WEEK IN REVIEW
(The purpose of this meme is to record a weekly memoir of your life to look back on for your own personal reflection/enjoyment and for your children/grandchildren to enjoy and learn from your experiences. Don't you wish your parents/grandparents had left something like this for you?? I do!! Feel free to answer all or any...whatever you want to share and record, and feel free to add any subject I may have overlooked.
Please be sure and sign Mr. Linky so we can all enjoy each other's Week in Review posts.)

Entertainment-wise: keep quick appetizers on hand (ie TGIF's frozen artichoke/spinach dip and tortilla chips) for unexpected guests. Make up a batch of iced tea (warm weather) as soon as you know they are coming. Bring out the wii if conversation lags??? (this was an afterthought to the visit, so not sure if it would work, but would sure try it out next time)

Impacting News
National
Local CA firefighters making headway against the wildfires
Personal I've been approved for a Pell Grant!
Things I Read Sadly, nothing worth recommending :(
Movies/Videos We Watched: I Love Lucy (ILL trivia: Did you know that Little Ricky {Keith Thibodeaux} went on to become a Christian, played with the 70's Christian Rock Band David and the Giants, and is now married and works with his wife in a Christian Ballet Company - Ballet Magnificat?); Planet Earth (disc 2); I watched: Bella and The Inheritance (Why do period pieces costumes so often look like ads for Frederick's of Hollywood?!)
Interesting Internet Wikipedia continues to impress me!
Places We Went Borders, Barnes & Nobles, college
Budget Savers/Busters Gas continues to be a buster, but thankfully it's gone down some. Groceries are sure going up and up and up, though, and their prices don't go back down when the gas does!
Blessings our family; qualifying for the Pell Grant Award
Challenges new knitting pattern (washcloth) I keep losing my stitch count and having to start over...While the actual main two stitches seemed easier to learn than crochet, the knitting patterns seem more difficult to me crochet patterns....but, I'm going to keep at it.
Accomplishments final college financial aid paperwork turned in; baby step in entertaining
Family Happenings Not much new...just gearing up for the new school year.
Tried Something New Chicken Pasta Primavera recipe, knew knitting pattern

First pear of the season!
Remember this?
I just couldn't stand the closed curtains...(too claustrophobic feeling), even though this window overlooks the street (no privacy). So I gave these the same treatment I'd given the family room curtains.
You can see a bit of the second window in the first picture, so I went ahead and included the second window here:
Much better, don't you think?
AND...if I can get some strong-arm help, I think I'm going to go ahead and hang that mirror and picture...if we move, we move. At this point, I don't think it would happen before my first semester is completed if it happens at all.
I think I am reviewing 2 weeks!!! had to catch up!
